“When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
– Leonardo DaVinci

“Until you spread your wings, you have no idea how far you’ll fly.”
Meet some of our dedicated cadets, 611 Harvard Squadron strives to promote continued growth and development over the course of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet training program.
The aim of the Air Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promote physical fitness; and stimulate the interest of youth in the air activities of the Canadian Forces.
Our squadron trains one night per week—a "parade night"—to undertake the local training program. The program provides cadets with training that is prescribed and implemented by the Department of National Defense (DND), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL) that is available to youth up-to 7 years depending on the age at registration. In the fifth and subsequent years, cadets may be assigned to instruct these classes to the younger cadets. Our local training begins in September and continues until June.
Cadets receive instruction in citizenship, leadership, and instructional techniques.
Throughout the year there are weekend exercises organized by the local squadrons.
Gliding and familiarization flights are all common activities.
